Welcome back to school! If you didn't get a chance to attend any instructional technology workshops this summer, here's a quick re-cap of our summer professional learning offerings. In addition to the slide decks embedded below, you are welcome to peruse our
Summer Professional Learning website where you will find not only our slide decks, but also some
Tech How To's as well as some
EduProtocol Templates (more to come on that in my future blog posts...hint: "A Little Bird Told Me" is making way for something new to help you "
Teach Better - Work Less - Achieve More").
Differentiated Instruction
At its most basic level, differentiating instruction means “shaking up” what goes on in the classroom so that students have multiple options for taking in information, making sense of ideas, and expressing what they learn. In this workshop, you will learn about a variety of tools and strategies to help students acquire content, to process or make sense of ideas, and to develop products so that each student can learn effectively.
EduProtocols
EduProtocols are instructional lesson frames that are designed to engage students in learning through critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity. In this workshop, you will learn about a sampling of EduProtocols that can be used with any subject and grade level to help you teach better, work less, and achieve more!
Supercharge Student Feedback with Voice and Video Tools
Learn how to provide specific, timely, actionable feedback for students using audio and video tools for digital work. Featured tools include the Voice & Comment and Mote Chrome extensions for audio feedback and Screencastify and Zoom for video feedback.
Podcasting in the Classroom
Student-created podcasts are an great way for students to build their 21st century skill set, touching upon all 4 "Cs": Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Critical Thinking. Further, offering students the choice of creating a podcast takes your lesson to the highest rung of the SAMR Ladder--Redefinition--as students leverage technology to demonstrate learning for an authentic audience. In this workshop, you will learn about a variety of tools to support podcasting in the classroom--everything from recording to publishing to branding. Featured tools include Soundtrap, Anchor, Canva, Spotify, and Instagram.
Build Your Own Breakout
Digital Breakouts are a fun way for students to collaborate and problem-solve as they work through your course content. In this workshop, you will learn how to create your own digital breakout games using tools like Google Forms, Google Drawings, and Google Sites.
