A Little Bird Told Me: Gimkit is Now Free!

GimKit is a tool that turns formative assessments into engaging games to promote mastery of content. If you are unfamiliar with GimKit, some have compared it to a mashup of Kahoot! and Quizlet. Check out this description from Common Sense Media:
Gimkit Live is a classroom game-show platform where students compete by answering questions on their electronic devices. Instead of earning points, students earn virtual currency, which they can "invest" during the game to boost their score. Games can be played live or can be assigned as independent practice. Students connect via game codes or through a classroom account and can play in a web browser on any internet-connected device. They can compete against each other or collaborate in teams or as a whole class. When teachers launch the game, they choose from a variety of play modes and set in-game parameters...Teachers can view and download detailed student reports after every game.

Recently, Gimkit announced that they would now be offering a free plan! Check out the Tweet below from @gimkit to learn more.

Never heard of Gimkit? Check out the video tutorial below from Sam Kary. Note: Sam's video is from March 2021--Gimkit's featured modes are now free! The video is thorough, but somewhat long. Pro Tip: click the gear icon and change the playback speed to 1.5 to reduce viewing time.
