A Little Bird Told Me: Creative Ways to Use Google Drawings

Twitter can be a great resource for teacher professional learning. There is a robust community of educators who share best-practices as well as material resources to support their colleagues on a global scale. One of my favorite accounts belongs to a social studies teacher in California, Amanda Sandoval. Check out Amanda's Tweet about using Google Drawings to create an infographic syllabus--a technique that can also be applied to lesson plans, HyperDocs, student assignments, and more. Click here to make your own copy of Amanda's template.

Another Edu-Twitter resource I rely on is Eric Curts. Eric is a technology integration specialist in Ohio and provides TONS of valuable resources for all-things-Google. Check out Eric's resources for making interactive posters using Google Drawings for some inspiration!

One more educator that I follow on Twitter is Matt Miller, who runs the "Ditch That Textbook" blog. Check out Matt's tips for using Google Drawings to foster deep thinking.

Matt also recently shared some resources for using Google Drawings to make graphic organizers for student use as well as 25 free templates. You can check out Matt's templates and tips here. This is an impressive resource that includes graphic organizer templates for Venn Diagrams, KWL Charts, Timelines, Cause and Effect Chains, Word Webs, Argumentative Writing, and so much more!
