Visualizing Data with Infographics

I can't believe that it's been 20 years since new episodes of Seinfeld have been on the airwaves. Nonetheless, one of my favorite references is Kramer's "Coffee Table Book About Coffee Tables." It's what I first thought of when I stumbled upon the Infographic About Infographics embedded below.

Oftentimes, we task our students with synthesizing information and demonstrating learning in visual ways like creating posters and presentations. Infographics offer another alternative for students to show what they know by combining information and data with images to visualize step-by-step processes, timelines, research findings, and more. The use of infographics has been on the rise in recent years as communications professionals have leveraged the brain science related to visual communications to influence their respective audiences. Infographics make information easy to understand by simplifying complex data, summarizing long reports, engaging audiences, and enhancing text. There is no shortage of free websites students can use to create their own infographics, including those listed below:
